The Aarhus Centre Tuzla supports and promotes the implementation of the Aarhus Convention in and around Tuzla, in north-eastern Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The main aim of the Aarhus Centre Tuzla is to improve the implementation of the Aarhus Convention and be the link between public authorities and the wider community, especially at the local level.
The Center for Ecology and Energy (CEE), which was established in 2001 and has 7 employees and over 50 volunteers, works at local, national and regional level. Besides the protection of the environment, the CEE promotes human rights and influences policies and legal regulations. With the financial support of the EU and the OSCE Mission to BiH, the CEE initiated in June 2013 its work on the Aarhus Centre for information, public participation in decision-making and legal protection in the field of environment.
